Case Study: Our Figaros Have The X Factor! This month we are featuring a very special car that we created for a rather well-known presenter and his girlfriend. You will all have heard of Dermot O'Leary, Radio 2 DJ and TV presenter of The X Factor, Big Brother's Little Brother and many other programmes. One thing you probably don't know is that Dermot and his partner Dee are the proud owners of a fully restored Nissan Figaro that was created for them by The Figaro Shop. Dermot gave the car to Dee Koppang as a surprise birthday gift (the best way to receive a Figaro!). Dermot had already visited us in advance to select the car and the colour and he chose a low mileage lapis grey model. Then Dee came down to our workshop, arriving in a blindfold! and she was introduced to the car. We spent some time going through leather samples and designs so she could choose her favourite style for the brand new Italian leather interior. Don't Allow Your Figgy To Be Stolen! We are sorry to report that over the past six months, we have had an increasing number of phone calls from owners reporting that their Figs have been broken into, usually resulting in a ripped hood, a stolen stereo and stolen window switches. Until recently, the Figaro has escaped most types of crime and will usually make the most gloomy person smile as it tootles on by. In the London area especially, there appears to be a wave of this particular type of theft. In its original state, the Fig doesn't have anything like the security that modern cars now rely on. Hints and Tips: Opening And Closing The Hood Now we know it may sound trivial, but we know you love your Figgies and don't want to hurt them. We have had a number of calls about setting off the alarm when opening or closing the hood and there is no up-to-date manual about exactly how to do this seemingly straightforward task. Therefore, we have created this helpful 2 minute video showing you exactly how to open and close the hood the easiest way without causing any damage to your Figgy. At the end of the video there is also a special offer if you need any work done on your hood or need a replacement. Log into our Members Area to play the video. Amber correctly identified that the word "Figaro" appears SIX TIMES on the outside of a standard Fig. For this month's competition, the prize will be a new pair of beautiful polished inner sill kick plates in shiny chrome trim. (These kick plates sit on the inside door sills and become visible when you open the door.)
